A Visit to Saint Pons, Part Deux

s pons neolSt pons neol 1pons neolThere is a lot of prehistory around here, and on the day I was waiting for the dog’s teeth cleaning in Saint Pons, I visited the little Museum of Prehistory there. Quite interesting really, although the displays were a bit hokey.

    Those menirs are amazing. In general, they are considered to be the first representations of man in a standing position in Europe. Didja learn that in the hokey museum? 😉

    I do to, there is always some jewel, sometimes forgotten…And I know about the menirs because my honey proposed a story about them to National Geographic! He got a “no”…wah, wah…

    They are everywhere, but I don’t know if they were erected by the same people. Probably not as some are much older than others, and they are very far apart. i’ve visited the ones in Brittany, around Carnac. One of my chihuahuas knew exactly what they were for ……
